Yan Jinwei, born in November 1950, CPC member, university diploma, bachelor's degree, research librarian, curator of Wuhan University Library. December 1975-September 1978, he was a clerk of Wuhan University Library. October 1978-July 1982, he was studying at Wuhan University majoring in Library science. August 1982-September 1984, he was working in Wuhan University Library as a services secretary. October 1984-September 1998, he was deputy director of Wuhan University Library. October 1998-October 2000, his post was chief librarian of a Wuhan University Library(before merger).
After November 2000, he still was chief librarian of Wuhan University Library(after merger). He went to the United States as a visiting scholar at University of Illinois Library (inter school exchange) during the period July 1987-July 1988. June 1998-July 1999, he was a research scholar in School of Library and Information Science, Kent State University, USA, (Fulbright program of Ministry of Education). In October 1993, he had been awarded special government allowance. He holds concurrent posts, member of College of Library and Information steering committee of Ministry of Education, member of experts group of the "211 Project" China Academic Library and Information System (CALIS) , vice president of Library Association in Hubei Province, deputy director of Hubei College of Library and Information Working Committee, graduate Supervisors of School of Information Management at Wuhan University. |
